1) To avoid late fees, please allow extra time when paying by mail.
2) Post marks are not accepted.
3) Drop box located by front door. Checked regularly, M-F.
4) For a receipt, enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope and your entire tax bill with your payment.
5) Summer Tax Deferments are available for qualifying seniors, agricultural or disabled residents. Call for a copy of the guidelines for deferment qualifications or an application. You must file prior to 09/14/08.
6) Those who qualify for a Tax Deferment will not be charged interest and have until February 14, 2009 to pay their Summer Taxes.
7) We do not accept credit cards for payment. We do accept cash (exact change), however, IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED TO PAY WITH CASH! Please pay by check or money order.
8) Have you filed for your Principal Residence Exemption (PRE)? To be eligible, residents must occupy their home by May 1st of the current tax year.
9) The Treasurer’s Office is not responsible for payment on wrong property.

for Deferment
Applications for deferment must be filed
with the Treasurer's office prior to September 14, 2008. Qualifications
are as follows:
Homeowner's
Principal Residence Exemption (P.R.E.)
All homeowners, especially new ones should check to make sure you are receiving the Homeowner’s Principal Residence Exemption” (P.R.E.). In order to qualify for your tax exemption, you must be living in your house
of the current tax year by May 1st. By receiving the Principal Residence Exemption, your tax bill should
read: P.R.E. %: 100.0000. If you are not receiving this exemption and this is your principal residence, you
may file an affidavit at the Township Offices.
Paying property Taxes through Mortgage Escrows
Do you pay your property taxes through an escrow account with your mortgage lender? If you pay your taxes via mortgage escrow and you have either recently refinanced, paid off your existing mortgage loan or you have financed a new home, please call the Treasurer’s office at (616) 866-0622 and verify the mortgage lender so we have the correct information updated in our system for tax billing purposes.
Tax Bills:
You should receive your 2008 - Summer tax bill and or copy in the first week of July and your Winter bill should
be mailed to you the first week of December. Please be sure to read your tax bills as they contain a lot of information, i.e. Due dates, office hours of operation, including holidays, drop box location, return receipt rules,
