COURTLAND TOWNSHIP MASTER PLAN

PLANNING COMMISSION NOTES
The updating of the Master Plan for Courtland Township is a major issue before the Planning Commission at present. Courtland has contracted with Williams & Works to complete this project. Master Plan refining is a process that the Planning Commission tackles every 10 to 15 years. Concerns listed by the Planning Commission at an early session are: land use, concentrating on population efficiency or trying to keep the growth of the community concentrated and manage a rural community as well, farmland preservation, and a focus on Northland Drive from Rockford to M-57, especially traffic volume and it's effects. Master Plan revision will be an ongoing effort, community input is welcomed, note the Planning Commission meeting dates on the township meeting schedule.
Section 2.295 Driveways of our Zoning Ordinance was amended, as recommended by the Planning Commission, by the Courtland Township Board at our monthly meeting, February 1, 2006.
